EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
Graphic Designer & Visual Artist

The Story
Jorge Letona is a Guatemalan Graphic Designer and Visual Artist with over 20 years of experience defining visual narratives through experimental and minimalist aesthetics. Rooted in a deep appreciation for art movements like Bauhaus and Op Art, Letona’s work transcends traditional boundaries, specializing in bold branding, music packaging, and custom typography. His design philosophy is built on precision and conceptual depth, treating every project as a unique opportunity to create a lasting visual experience that challenges the ordinary.
Letona’s career reached a global stage through his iconic collaboration with the legendary heavy metal band, Iron Maiden. His custom "Hunab-Ku" typography—a striking fusion of modern design and ancient Mayan hieroglyphs—was selected to define the visual identity of the band's The Book of Souls album. This distinct artwork was not only featured on the album cover but also adorned the fuselage of "Ed Force One," the band’s Boeing 747 jet, demonstrating his unique ability to seamlessly blend rich Guatemalan heritage with international pop culture on a massive scale.
Beyond his high-profile collaborations, Letona remains a driving force in the creative industry, applying his "all or nothing" approach to every endeavor.
Whether developing comprehensive branding through Creo Estudio or exploring new artistic frontiers in digital media, he maintains a strict standard of excellence: "If you're going to do something, do it well—otherwise, let it go." This unwavering commitment to quality and innovation has solidified his reputation as a visionary who consistently delivers impactful, world-class design.
